Material Inspection
- Inspect all tiles for damage (e.g., chipped edges or broken pieces) before installation.
- Variations in color, pattern, texture, and veining are natural.
- No adjustments or services will be provided after installation begins.
Substrate Preparation
- Ensure the substrate is clean, flat, and free of cracks or contaminants.
- Waterproofing is necessary for wet areas, using a membrane compatible with the setting material.
- Use silicone caulking for expansion joints and corners, rather than grout.
Installation
- Dry-fit tiles to plan the layout, especially for tiles with variation.
- Use white thin-set mortar, preferably rapid-curing.
- Apply adhesive to cover only what can be tiled in 10-15 minutes.
- Grout joints should be at least 1/16" wide.
- Use a 9" trowel with a 1/8" square notch or a 3/16" to 1/4" square notch for ceramic tiles.
Grouting
- Use non-sanded grout for ceramic tiles to avoid scratching.
- Test the grout on a small area first.
- Fully pack grout joints and clean excess grout before it hardens.
- Never use acids for cleaning grout haze.
- Apply grout release before grouting to facilitate cleaning.
Cutting
- Use a wet saw with a continuous rim diamond blade for cutting ceramic tiles.
Cleaning
- Porcelain tile is easy to clean with a solution of 1/4 cup vinegar to 2 gallons of water.
- For unpolished surfaces, sweep or vacuum, then clean using the two-direction method (first with the grain, then diagonally).
- Rinse the tile after cleaning to remove any solution.
Reminders
- Avoid using ammonia, bleach, acids, waxes, oil-based cleaners, or steel wool.
- Place rugs at entrances to reduce tracked dirt.

Returns Policy
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
