MATERIAL INSPECTION

Our stones are natural products. Therefore, natural variations in color, pattern, texture, and veining are expected and may differ from what is pictured. Before installation begins, inspect the goods for any damage, such as chipped edges or broken pieces. Adjustments or service will not be provided after installation has commenced.

INSTALLATION

• Dry-Fitting: We recommend dry-fitting the pattern before starting the installation. This allows you to visualize cuts, plan the layout, and account for variations in the tile.
• Mortar Selection: To maintain the tile's color, we highly recommend using white thinset mortar. For faster installation, opt for rapid-curing thinset mortar.

Application Guidelines:

• Apply only as much adhesive as you can cover within 10-15 minutes.
• Maintain a minimum grout joint width of 1/16" (tiles should not be butt set).
• Use a 3/16" or 1/4" square notch trowel when installing marble.
• Before placing tiles, smooth down mortar ridges with the flat side of the trowel.

GROUTING

• Grout Type: Use non-sanded grout to prevent scratching the stone.
• Test First: Before grouting, test a small area to ensure the surface will not scratch.
• Grout Application: Pack grout joints full, leaving no pits or voids. Clean excess grout as you work—do not allow it to harden completely.
• Cleaning: Avoid acids for cleaning grout haze. Use a damp sponge to clean and smooth the joints.
• Grout Release: Applying grout release prior to grouting helps with cleaning and protects against staining from contrasting grout colors.

SEALING

• After installation and grouting, seal the stone with a high-quality breathable stone sealer to minimize water absorption, efflorescence, and staining.
• If needed, a color enhancer can be applied to bring out the stone’s true color after grouting.
• Reseal the stone as necessary, especially when it darkens.

CUTTING

• For best results, use a wet-saw equipped with a new, continuous rim diamond blade designed for cutting marble.
• Avoid using "turbo" or notched blades meant for porcelain or ceramic, as these can cause rough cuts and excessive chipping.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

• Cleaning: Clean stone surfaces using a neutral cleaner, stone soap, or mild dishwashing detergent with warm water.
• Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and dry with a soft cloth. To avoid streaks or residue, avoid using too much soap or cleaner.
• Avoid Acidic Products: When cleaning marble or limestone, avoid products containing lemon, vinegar, or any acids.
• No Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaners, which can scratch or damage the stone’s surface.
